For Upplysa, Driton has created The Weight of the World, whose title quotes an idiom on the cumulative responsibilities of human existence – to one’s own potential, surroundings, and communities, both real and imagined. The text-based design, a signature of the artist’s approach, speaks to passersby and the town it flutters above, indicating that idiosyncrasy and distinction are two sides of the same coin. To be one and the same is to be equally odd.
